Natera is trash?

Yeah similar thing has happened to me - results took forever to come back and when they did they had an “atypical finding” outside of the scope of their test. And because of this they gave ZERO results for anything else - no fetal fraction, no gender, no risk status etc. just a “hey there’s possible something wrong with chromosome 18 but also possibly not” .. Naturally I panicked and went down a rabbit hole and found hundreds of others who have experienced this too and their babies were perfectly normal. So after meeting with a genetic counselor I went ahead and did another NIPT with MaterniT on Monday this past week and am awaiting to see the results before continuing with more invasive testing. I have read an astounding amount of bad experiences with Natera.

With my first 3 years ago it was right. I had my blood drawn a week ago and waiting on results.

My fetal fraction wasn't High Enough with my first draw so they did it again and I only paid for it once because it came back inconclusive due to low fetal fraction the first time

Yup. Had my blood drawn on May 3rd & just got the results today... inconclusive/no result 🙄 super frustrating

@Sarah @Teela would you let me know when you get your results if you don't mind? My Dr also said she's done several retests with natera and it'll still come back inconclusive/low fetal fraction/etc.

@Kassandra please keep me in the loop! I also got super stressed because my doctor did say sometimes the test comes back that way because something IS wrong but not often 🫠 I'm already a loss mom

Did the redraw on the 1st got my results on the 10th

@Julia was that supposed to say Michelle? 😅 if you were asking me haha I haven't spoken to my OB yet.. ill wait for someone to call me otherwise I have an appointment on Tuesday and I'll bring it up to her then.. hopefully by that time I won't be as emotional because I think it's BS Natera offers this test for as early as 10 weeks yet women who are getting blood drawn at 12 weeks still don't get results.. I'm hesitant to try again with them.. if the redraw is free I probably will but idk...might talk to my OB about a different company-- this is sketchy 😅

@Teela how far along were you when you did the test for the 2nd time?

I know! I don't really want to do a retest with them because my doctor clearly doesn't trust them and I was 12 plus weeks along the first time! Just seems a bit ridiculous to me.

@Julia just wanted to give you an update. I spoke to an OB at my clinic & he's not concerned about the low fetal fraction & says it's fairly common to happen in women with 'more weight'.. also, I had an ultrasound today & I'm supposed to be 12 weeks but am measuring at 11 so that could also be why I didn't have enough fetal DNA when my blood was taken.. I asked him why Natera advertised for 10 weeks if the results never come back with anything & he says it does work at 10 weeks for REALLY slim women & so they say that it 'can' be done.. he recommends I restest around 13-14 weeks... I'll probably wait until 14 weeks to make sure I don't get a negative result again

circling back to this - got the MaterniT back, a private scan, another scan all came back perfectly normal!! All the worry from Natera was for nothing!!
