Bexsero Meningococcal vaccine

Mums, our GP has been suggesting to go for this vaccination Bexsero for Meningococcal. It is not covered under Medicare for non-aboriginal population. It is quite expensive, about $280 per dose. Apparently needs 3 repeats. I'm finding it quite expensive and I have a feeling that if it was necessary, it would be part of the immunization schedule. Has anyone else got it administered or was asked to?

I did my research and found that it is needed to be done. My son got his 2 vaccines (one at 6 months, then 8 months) and is due for the final one now that he is 12 months. Call around different pharmacies as they all charge different prices..
