Swimming

Has anyone taken their little ones swimming at any of the local leisure centres? If so, which one and did you have to book? ☺️☺️

I go to lessons at the Olympic pool but you can book one off sessions in the training pool. I like that there are plenty of baby changing facilities and it’s nice and clean!

I used Newham leisure centre a few times last yr before my boy started reacting to the chlorine. You don’t have to book, can just show up for the session but I always booked

East Ham Leisure Centre all the time - she even attends swimming lessons there - I like the facility.

I prefer Atherton leisure centre but due to availability we use east ham for swimming lessons and they have been great so far. Atherton is newer and the pool is warmer imo

London aquatic centre

Thank you everyone!!❤️

Leyton leisure centre is wonderful for the lil ones I took my 5month old she loved it

Water babies at E16

@Lulu I have been wanting to send my son to this but don’t know anyone that goes there! Is the water warm? Is it a normal pool or one specifically for them? My son had a reaction to the chlorine in Newham so he hasn’t been swimming since last year now

Is 6 months okay for a baby to start?

@sabz you can start at newborn age, it’s whenever you are ready

@Shay the pool size, water etc depends on the venue. The one where we go is in the hotel and its a small pool mostly for hotel guests that I almost never saw. The water is excellent, very warm. Even though they said to buy warm-suit you don’t really need it. All babies are just in the swimming pants.
