Babies eye colour

Your mum will have given you her blue gene, and that’s what you must have passed to your daughter. She does have beautiful bright blue eyes! X

My oldest's blue eyes were for sure blue by 3 months. My youngest's eyes are still working towards brown/green hazel, but I knew they weren't going to be blue by 2.5 months. I've got blue eyes (so does tm dad's entire family, mom has blue/green hazel, then her side is all brown eyed). My husband has brown/green hazel (his family is all brown eyed)

Our dude had grey eyes for a while, he’s 5.5 months and they look kind of hazel now (they’re ambery brown around his pupils). I have blue eyes, as does my entire family, my husband has brown (mum had brown, dad had blue, mum carries brown and blue genes)

Your mom has blue eyes so you carry the gene. Her eyes will probably stay this color.

My boys were the same. His dad and family are blue as are my dads. Mine are brown. He’s 10 months old now and the blue has gone very stormy and you can see a hazel centre working its way through. Babies eyes change colour through the first year or so ☺️

I think they’ll have their eye color by 6 months?? I believe that’s what i read

I have green eyes and my husband has brown but we have a bright blue eyed boy. Genetics are fun. My eyes changed from blue to green around 3 years old

Interesting. My son is 7 months and his eyes are very dark blue but mine (I have my dad's light blue eyes) and my partners mums eyes are much brighter blue. However my mums eyes are dark blue so I wonder if they will stay dark blue or go brown like his dad. But like you his dad has a parent with blue eyes so it's the same chance. I've heard of eyes going from blue to brown at 1 year old

Nope my girls both still have blue , 5 years and nearly 2

My son had blue eyes until he was 1.5, then they changed up to being bright grey. And now they are bright green- he is now 4 years old! Husband has blue eyes and I have brown eyes.

@Kayla it can definitely change over a longer period of time. My niece’s started out bright blue, they gradually turned green over 5/6 years. My little dude is almost 6 months and I’ll be surprised if they stay the colour they are now (they’re grey with a little hazel in the middle) but I wouldn’t complain because they look super cool.
