Newborn screaming all day

Hey all, my little one is 4 weeks old and the past few days all he’s done through the day is cry whenever he’s awake, he’s so hard to settle and when he does he gets really jumpy in his sleep and wakes himself up, the only way he’ll stay in a deep sleep is if he’s on me or in the car which is just impossible to do both of those for hours at a time. We’ve tried colic relief drops, not working, he’s always been fed, changed and burped I feel like I’m doing everything I can and I’m really struggling. He’s absolutely fine through the night, he wakes, feeds and once’s he’s burped and changed if needed he goes straight back into a deep sleep. Can anyone help please I feel like I’m going insane now😩

Google fourth trimester and startle reflex. Invest in a baby carrier and swaddle, white noise and patience even though that’s hard when you feel like you’re dying. Sending you strength mumma x

Try a hoover sound on Spotify.. it’s our saving grace!

@Sophie he absolutely hates being swaddled 😩a baby carrier is definitely a good shout I’m going to have a look for one! I’m exhausted, even though he’s great through the night, I just feel like I’m doing a really bad job and he can’t stand me ☹️x

@Melissa didn’t think of this! We’ve tried white noise and fans but now I think of it he’s always slept while the Hoover has gone around x

@Chantelle honestly it works 9 times out of 10 for us. We put it on quite loud but it puts our LO into a trance to get her attention back to us x

@Melissa I’m definitely going to try this! Thank you so so much x

This is my baby today. During feeds she is crying, then will feed then cry and repeat. She is hungry but fighting with the feed and breast even when in her mouth. I have just had a cry because I cannot tell what’s wrong and how I should help

@Amiiee do you put it on quite loud? I tried last night but didn’t want it on too loud for him but I don’t think he could hear it over his crying😅x

@Amaka it’s horrible isn’t it, I feel so helpless x

@Amiiee I didn’t know this! We use a red light because I read that it’s like being in the womb but I want to keep that for bed time so I’ll definitely try white noise! Thankfully he’s settled now after being in the car 😅x
