Would you let new driver drive your kid?

My MIL just got her license, failed her test 5 times 🥴😂 one of the times she failed she told me she drove up on the pavement(sidewalk) because some cop car sirens scared her. Shes definitely a bit jumpy.

She’s mentioned getting a car seat for my 2.5 year old and I just kinda ignored it as she doesn’t have a car yet. But am I wrong for thinking that she’s absolutely not going to be driving him around!?
I’d say she needs to be driving for a couple months/a year before I’d be comfortable with it and I’d have to ride with her first too and see how she actually is. I have no reason to have her drive him anywhere anyway.

If you’re not comfortable, then please don’t let her.

Ageee with - if you’re not comfortable with her driving your kids, then that’s the end of the story. ☺️

New driver or not, no one has the right to drive your child anywhere. If you're not comfortable, that's all that matters.

5 times?! No 😭

Hell no

No absolutely not! What if baby cries and she panics? Totally ridiculous

Not wrong at all, my mother in law is a horrible driver, doesn't even know how to pump gas and only drives the same route to work and goes to stores and places only on that route lol, we do not let her drive with our kids😂

I would not. Regardless of failing 5x I would be uncomfortable as heck. But also my babies like squealing in the car. And they make a lot of loud random noise.

Trust your mama gut! I'd rather be overly cautious and potentially cause hard feelings than live with regret.
It would be a hard no for me though.

I failed five times too; however I would not have trusted myself as a new driver with a child in the car. And I didn’t drive up onto a kerb. 🙈 It takes a while to get properly comfortable and confident after passing. I definitely would be letting her drive my kid. Maybe you can make excuses for her to drive you somewhere to test her out!
