Thumb sucking

Anyone else’s 5 month sucks their thumb? Now I know she sucks on her fingers because she’s teething but sucking the thumb by itself… is this just a normal thing babies do? Will I be able to break her of this?

My son had been doing this too, I’m guessing because his teeth were irritated but he hasn’t been doing it anymore ever since I got this glove thing for him. It even makes noise.

oh I do. She’s been doing this since she was a month old. I distract her with toys, Ms Rachel, my phone etc but nope

where’d you get this one. I’ve seen some but I haven’t seen one that makes noise.

It’s developmental appropriate for babies to suck and chew on their thumbs/fingers. It can help soothe them and can feel good on their teething gums. Nothing is wrong with it and most dentists just recommend breaking the habit by 3 years of age. It’s totally fine for a baby to do and there’s no reason you have to stop the habit unless you want to

I got it from Dollar General, yeah sometimes he doesn’t like to put it on either. So I just give it to him so he can hold it with both of his little hands.
