Cough at night

Babe has a cold. His cough is 100 times worse at night. It will wake him up and he is up every two hours. We are using a humidifier and chest rub. Any other suggestions? Has anyone used the chest and cold medicines?

How old is your baby? Has he been seen for possible rsv or ear infection? And you can always give Tylenol and ibuprofen

Coughs are so tough in babies 🥺 the position of lying down makes the congestion settle in their chest, which is why the cough is worse. The best treatment is honey, but you can't give that under 1 year. It sucks.

Sounds like you're doing what you can. Give baby snuggles to help him feel better in the short term until he improves 🩵

I gave my baby Hylands cough and mucus nighttime medicine and it helped him through out the night. he coughed a little but not as bad, I also put vapor drops in his humidifier and propped him up on a pillow while he slept so he was elevated

It will save your nights! Take an onion 🧅 and open it on a plate, put a little water on it to moisten it, and put it next to his crib, that will help his cough decrease at night

It is very tough... my little one had a cough like for 3 weeks lr more.. I was taking her to the ped weekly, they always said it was nothing... but I kept making weekly appts... until last week when her cough worsened her chest sounded wrong and they prescribed antibiotics..
But it was absolutely horrible until she was finally prescribed that, because she would be ok 1 week and bad the next one.. they kept saying it was just different colds.
She would have cough spells that lasted 15 min and sounded super dry cough..
I'm sorry your little one is sick.. keep oushing the ped if you think he is not ok.
