So I gave my little girl raspberry sorbet today for the first time- obviously I checked for milk & soya but she’s had a flare up really badly of her eczema and I can’t pinpoint if there’s anything in there that could make her flare up 😫
I know hydrolysed vegetable protein can be soy but the ingredients say pea protein.
Have added a screenshot of the ingredients- anyone have any ideas please?
She’s had reactions to strawberries & mangoes previously so we don’t give her those but She loves raspberries so it’s not that. Xx

Has she had lemon before? Could it be the lemon juice?

Came to say the same! I bought my 11 month old mango sorbet to have when it was really hot and he loved it but came out in a flare up but I knew it wasn’t the mango. It also has concentrated lemon juice. I tried him with a slice of lemon and his eczema returned, along with hives and diarrhoea 🫣
He reacts to pineapple, watermelon and orange so I’m starting to think it’s just all citrus fruit 🤦🏻♀️xx

They are so acidic its quite common for children to react. Just like tomatoes too

yes, he gets a contact rash round his mouth with tomato but his dietician said we could keep giving it because of how common it is and how likely he’ll outgrow it! Xx

Yes I was told the same with all citrus as well. My eldest also reacted to aubergine (hives just from touching) and spinach (blood in poo) but I was advised to build up her tolerance giving them in small doses within food not by itself. I think it’s always best to go with what is right for your child. Both my girls have/had CMPA but I do things differently with my youngest as she reacts differently to how my eldest did.

See I thought the lemon juice but sometimes she has the odd Ella’s kitchen fruit pouch as a snack but that has lemon juice concentrate and never had a flare up with those 🤦🏼♀️😫

It could be the pea protein?

I agree with , it could be the pea protein as it’s part of the legume family (lentils, peanuts etc)
