Weight gain

So I know weight gain is to be expected in pregnancy but I’m already feeling a bit down about it.
I’ve had really bad nausea and the ONLY thing that honestly helps me through it is by eating anything beige (bread, salty crisps, chips, buttery toast.. anything like this!) idk why this works, but it genuinely helps to settle my stomach. So this, compared with not doing any real exercise means I’ve already put on a bit of weight (+1.5kgs). I’m only 8w+5d and I just feel like I’ve already set myself up for a bigger weight gain than necessary.

Has anyone else experienced this? Tell me I’m not alone 😩🥺

Hey girl I know it's very difficult. I'm going through the same but I also feel so bloated and I feel like u already have like a 6month bump but I'm also 8weeks and my self confidence is non existing 🥲

Honestly girl you can’t help weight gain unless you have a consistent healthy diet . My advice is instead of eating 3 big meals a day just try eating 5-6 small meals but frequently. Also for the nausea try eat some crackers or ginger biscuits when you wake up it should settle your stomach more than if you just woke up normally and drank some water. Keep snacks on hand like nuts (if you’re not allergic ) as an alternative , cheese& crackers and also some freeze dried fruits for a healthier option if you cannot manage to keep fruit down. Hope this helps and congratulations, you got this💗

Don’t forget if you’re eating a higher volume of carbs, they absorb every bit of liquid you consume, the weight gain at this stage is more likely to do with the extra blood volume and water retention than actual fat. Also if like me you’ll probably not be going for a no.2 as often as your digestion slows down a lot in pregnancy. Xx

I feel exactly the same glad I’m not the only one!! I put on 3 1/2 stone with my last pregnancy and have been trying to be good during first trimester so I don’t put on as much this time but I honestly cannot stop eating!! It is what it is 😩

It's tough, I don't think anyone here is going to say otherwise, but honour your cravings! I'm not saying go crazy, but if carbs are the only things that make you feel better, just eat them! Have a little bit of what you're wanting and you'll be absolutely fine. Remember we need the extra calories! I don't remember wanting as much food when I was pregnant with my first, I'm sure I only survived the first trimester on fries, pringles and pot noodles 😂 But by the second trimester my diet went back to normal, so I'm just keeping that in mind, and trying not to stress about it too much. Exercise when you can, eat nutritious meals when you feel able to and cut yourself some slack!

When you're pregnant your body stores fat more readily to fuel the baby's growth and then later ready for breastfeeding. All normal. ☺️

I’m in exactly the same boat and have probably gained roughly the same if not more. I was exactly the same last pregnancy too, and it all worked out absolutely fine in the end. It can be so demoralising though 😩

I’m really active usually and healthy with my diet, but first trimester sickness stopped me exercising completely and all I wanted to do was eat and sleep (and not healthy eating, I’m talking a whole tub of Pringles in one sitting sort of thing 😂). I managed to exercise more and eat healthier after the sickness passed ❤️

I gained 60 lbs over my last pregnancy!!! But honestly I lost most of it straight away after giving birth and was back in my pre-pregnancy jeans within a week.

Friends wedding abroad

Hi all. I know this is FTM... But really need advice. I am currently pregnant with baby #2. Only 8 weeks. I didn't want to tell anyone yet, my partner and boss knows (needed for risk assessment reasons annoyingly). My friend is getting married in a remote part of Spain in ~3 months. I've already had a few minor complications, pain, bleeding, vanishing twin... I got preeclampsia last pregnancy and a terrible birth.
I am pretty sure I don't feel comfortable flying and then travelling out to a remote part of Spain during pregnancy. It will just be me and my toddler. I know it's overcautious but I just don't feel comfortable. I'm not even sure if I am going to be classified as high risk pregnancy or not.
How do I handle this? I need to tell her ASAP, but I didn't really want to tell anyone yet as doc told me miscarriage risk is a bit increased with vanishing twin. Any ideas?

Anxious/depressed

My first pregnancy symptom was my anxiety out of nowhere. I feel like I'm a bundle of nerves and just so scared of everything. Is anyone else feeling similar? How are you managing? Are we contributing it to hormones?
