The past week I’ve had random instances where I start seeing what looks like shooting stars, it happened about 15 minutes ago while I was just lay down so it’s not like I brought it on at all, only lasts a few seconds then it goes away. This is my first pregnancy so not sure what’s normal and what’s not, I’m 38+1, anyone had this or have any advice??

It can be a sign of preeclampsia so would definitely get checked by your midwife if you can. But pregnancy can cause strain on your eyes and vision disturbances in general x

do you think it’ll be something I can ring about on Monday when the midwives are back in or should I call triage? X

I think you need to call triage it could be preeclampsia !

Yeah I would probably call triage just to be on the safe side x

Do you have any other preeclampsia symptoms? Right rib pain, swelling, protein in urine, headaches? X

I’ve had a headache all day, that’s not uncommon for me though I’ve had a lot of headaches throughout this pregnancy, protein has never been picked up in my urine by the midwife and the only rib pain I get is when there’s a baby foot up there x

I would also probably go to triage, especially with that headache! Best to check. They can do your bloods to check too! X

If you can, check your blood pressure and if it’s high that’s a sign as well x

I'd phone triage , at least if anything they can put your mind at ease.

As everyone else said... Call triage! I had 0 issues with this pregnancy.. until yesterday when I went for my routine community midwife appointment. Had high pressure for the first time... so they sent me to triage (3pm) and I am now waiting to be induced (36weeks + 2) as they randomly found protein in my blood and the high pressure was another sign of preeclampsia. It is quite scary but better safe than sorry! Good luck xx

Heya! Jumping on this. Have you called triage?
Not here to scare you, just to warn you :)
I had 0 symptoms really, my BP was good the entire pregnancy. Went to see my midwife at 37w4d. My BP was good, no protein in my urine but I was quite swollen. She told me to call triage if it got worse.
The day after, at 37w5d, I called triage as my legs were not getting better whatever I was doing. I didn't have a headache, I didn't have pain under my ribs, I didn't see stars but that day, 28h after my check with the midwife my BP was almost at 190/120 and proteins were through the roof in my urine.
I got sent for emergency c-section. Baby was all good but the short time of high BP I had already affected my kidney and everything.
Always best to call triage straight away, better safe than sorry 🧡
