Feeding question

My baby is finishing her bottles then crying for more but is then being sick after drinking more, is this because she’s full? I’m so confused at what to do 🤦🏼‍♀️ shes 3 weeks old & we’re using 0 teats for reference 🍼

How much more are you giving ? When my son was a newborn, I’d only increase by half an ounce or 1 full ounce. I gradually did that! Now he’s 9 months and he just drinks 8 ounces of milk.

@Elannah just making up an extra ounce or 2, and seeing what she drinks. She’s a guzzler 🫣

Being so young, she could be missing the “suck” of the bottle. Not sure if you’re offering paci, but perhaps after a burp she might like to keep sucking on a binky?

Could be gas also. After each feed I do knees to chest/belly to help with gas pain.

Sounds like maybe she’s crying due to wind? Which may be why she brings it up as it’s hitting a gas bubble. I’m not sure how it works for formula but I’ve never heard of anyone giving additional Bottles after the first one. Maybe speak to HV I’m not sure as if she’s being sick after every one I’d worry that’ll bring up her initial bottle xx

@Lucy are you pace feeding fully? Feeds should take around 15-20 minutes. It takes about 20 minutes for the body register being full

May be because she’s got trapped wind, my boy used to do this and the healthy visitor said sometimes when they have bellyache they cry because they think the pain is hunger x
