Sorry to jump on, people keep mentioning this grant to me, do you need to be on any sort of benefits or receiving any help already to get the grant does anyone know? Or is it literally for everyone?
no it's for everyone! Go apply, it helped me out massively
Send it tracked and signed. I used to work for DWP and there was a high percentage of mail not being received. Also it’s processed quicker when sent via tracked and signed.

It’s not for everyone unfortunately. It has to be your first child plus you need to be on some benefits for example universal credit, Jobseeker’s Allowance, etc

you can apply for it up to 6months after having baby when your on part uc and maternity I ended up getting it I wouldn’t have if I apllied when I was still at work most likely x the health vistitor told me to do it as I would probably get it which I did she said it was worth a try
once you go on maternity you most likely will get part uc to top up you can apply then up to 6 months after baby is born. I got it when I went on part uc if it helps I wouldn’t have got it if I was still at work recieving my full wage. I applied for it when baby was round a month old health visitor told me to x
work maternity I’m topped up to cover rent etc the first few months on maternity I was not aloud anything but once it went down I got it. you should still apply the worse they’ll say is no but i was suprised I even got that my self. I think you should still be eligible if your getting maternity from government im sure I read other people got it aswell x

I just wrote that on the envelope and put it in the red letter box. I got an answer few weeks later.
