Low PAPP-A

So I had a call from my midwife today, my 12 week screening all went well and are low risk but I’ve been told I have Low PAPP-A and have to take aspirin daily. As a first time mum to be I’m really anxious. Should I be worried? ☹️😩.

Not at all, my first baby was the same, it basically means they predict a smaller baby and they will have you in for extra scans to be sure of growth and they won't allow you to go over 39 weeks. They predict a smaller baby and they predicted that my daughter would be around 6 pound mark, guess what she came out at 7.12 and she is perfectly healthy. I did have to have scans every 3 weeks when I got to 28 weeks but that just meant I got to see baby girl more ☺️ you will be fine don't stress and I was told I had to dissolve the aspirin in water, it's absolute bullshit, you can swallow them my sister-in-law asked me why I was dissolving it and when I explained she laughed and said thats not right you can take it either way (she's a nurse). Message me anytime for advice ect x

@Kirsty Louise Ballard this is really reassuring. Thank you so much! Xx

Hey girl! I’ve had the exact same! And I understand that it sounds really daunting and scary at first but it’s genuinely nothing at all to worry about! The aspirin really helps and just being a bit healthier diet wise! You get more scans too to track the growth so we get to see baby more and they’re really reassuring appointments! We just get more support and monitoring throughout! But genuinely don’t worry at all! X
