I met a mum at a baby group this morning, her baby is 2 weeks younger than my 9m/o and they couldn’t be more different!! Her baby was crawling around and pulling herself up and just constantly on the go whilst my little girl was just sat there. My girl sometimes goes on her front and can belly crawl a bit but she’s really not that interested and hardly ever rolls over. She likes being on her feet but she can’t pull herself up yet. Should I be worried? I couldn’t believe how different they were. Any activities I can do to encourage her? She usually hates tummy time

My 9 month old can't crawl and has only just confidently started pulling herself up. She hasn't really said mama or dada yet and hasn't got any teeth. All babies learn at different rates and it's so hard not to but try not to compare. If you are, however, worried, speak to your hv x

My baby’s the same as yours. He just sits happily and isn’t interested in moving yet. He can’t pull to stand although he does like standing up with support. He’s nowhere near saying any words.

My baby is 9 months, cant crawl, pull up or army crawl. Rolls about a bit but is quite happy just plonked on his bum. Still falls over a fair bit too. No where near pulling up/walking.
Im not worried at all. I worried so much with my first baby and she did it all eventually. She learned to crawl after walking as she ended up being a bum shuffler instead (which is so cute to watch). Shes now a super bright wee 2.5 year old and hv has zero concerns.
Try not to compare, believe me i know its hard especially at baby groups/on here, but honestly, your baby is fine and going at her own little pace ❤️ theres probably things she can do that other babies can't and you just havent seen them yet. Her little brain is making new connections all the time x

Have you been to the baby group before? My son army crawls at home, we had to lock all the cupboards and fridge and tries to pull up on sofa and coffee table. but in a new setting he will mainly sit and stare. Even at playgroups we go to every single week it can take a good 25 mins for him to want to get moving. I would say enjoy the moment of peace while you still have it. They all get there in their own time and when they are at day 1 of school no one will be able to say who stood or walked first and it won't matter either

my toddler was a bum shuffler too! Never crawled just went straight to walking but it took her a super long time, her first independent steps were 6 days after her second birthday! She’s had problems with her feet that went undiagnosed, so I think it’s made me a bit paranoid about same happening with our LB who will be 9 months on 20th June

aww thats totally understandable. Hopefully baby boy wont have the same problems but at least you know to look out for anything like that this time round. I guess walking later has its plus points too, more spacial awareness etc. Hope all goes well with your little boy. I think people start worrying when they see posts about 9m olds puling/walking up etc but to be honest, 9m is still really early to be doing this. A lot of babies wont do this till much later. My girl was definitely over 1 anyway
