We use SMA Alfamino (more hypoallergenic then Althera) and SMA themselves said it has to be made with full hot water (above 70 degrees) so we use a flask and rapid cool. Prep machine doesn’t dissolve all the formula properly so it doesn’t kill all the bacteria x
you’re all okay to make it how you would with regular milk🥰 its thinner and more yellower than normal milk just as an fyi x
Althera came out so weird/separated for us with the prep machine that we stopped but if we had another baby the same I’d definitely try the Nuby rapid cool. We ended up bulk making bottles and keeping them in the fridge to heat up with the bottle warmer (always less than 24 hours). She seemed fine that way. We didn’t get prescribed it until she was 3 months old though so if younger rapid cool might be better for safety?
Flashbacks to the HOURS spent cleaning the greasy formula from bottles and teats 😭
@Madeleine the grease really is something else isn't it 😂 so many of my tops are stained
@Lucy-mae Nimble ‘Milk Buster’ spray is the only way i clean the bottles easily if you are struggling girl - its a spray bottle, i swear by it x
@Jade off to buy immediately, thank you!! Xx
No you’re fine to use it how you would prep normal formula :) xx
