in Cheshire East, Congleton, Macclesfield + other areas

Moving to congleton

Heyy, I currently live in worlsey in Manchester and we are looking to upsize. We can get a lovely home in somewhere like congleton and it looks lovely when we visit but does anyone have any insight into what it is like to live there? Is there any mum groups or ways to make friends in the area? Are schools good? Also is there any parts we should avoid buying in? Any insight would be amazing my partners family is from Buxton and Macclesfield and feel they know this part of the Uk better than me but still not well enough and I am from Leeds so apart form days out when we visit my partners family it will all be new to me

There's lots to do, there's a big mums group in Macclesfield as well which is only 10-15 mins drive. There's lots of new housing estates popping up in Congleton, many friends are moving there to start family's as you do get more for your money. Castaway is a great play centre, and Glebe farm is lovely. I'm Macclesfield but happy to chat 👍🏼 x

Congleton is fab, I'm born and bred there but currently in Holmes Chapel and looking to move back, so many classes and some great schools. Mossley and West Heath are the nicer areas imo but generally all areas are great x

@Jennifer oh amazing yeah I know Mac is close we are moving to be closer to in laws in Mac so that’s good to know And good to know others are moving to star families there!

@Sophie oh amazing! Good to get insight from someone born there who likes it most people hate where they grow up haha it does look like a nice area! x

@Sarah tbh I did use to hate it when I was younger but then I moved down the road and realised I still spend all my time there seeing friends and family, plus Holmes Chapel is about 5 shops and that's it so I can't wait to move back hopefully next year!
