Anyone dealing with thumb sucking blisters

My 14 month old has been unwell this week so has been sucking her thumb more than normal. It's blistered and some have popped and are red and angry. All the advice I've looked up online seems to be for older kids around 3 where you can try and persuade them not to suck their thumb or buy guards. None of which would work at this age. Anyone been through anything similar? How did they reduce thumb sucking and how did you get the thumb to heal, and not get infected?

Could you dress it and wrap it in a bandage?

My LO was the same but he stopped just a little over a month ago. I kept his hand in socks for about 3 days straight, it was difficult at first and he struggled to sleep through the first night but he adjusted to it. You’ll have to be very persistent as they’ll probably try many times to take it off

I realise this is an old post but I am just going through the same thing with my 15 month old. How long did the blisters last!?
