Accidentally ate expired ketchup
Hey!! I accidentally ate expired Waitrose ketchup with chips and was wandering what I should do?? Will it harm the baby?? I’m 25 weeks pregnant tomorrow. I didn’t even realise until I finished eating and was putting away the ketchup. Thank you for any advice :)

Do you keep it in the fridge? I thought ketchup usually had best before rather than use by dates... Best before, nothing to worry about if it is use by then again should be fine, you didn't taste anything different.

Typically the best before dates are for taste purposes only, you can eat bunch of stuff post best before date and you’ll be fine. The only thing that is concerning in pregnancy and food is bacteria found in some products that may impact the baby, but it still has to go through you first. So if you’re throwing up and having liquid bowels then give a ring to maternity ward, just to check but I think you’ll be fine! :)
I’d be very surprised if it made you poorly. It’s generally full of sugar and preserves so will likely outlive its best before, unless it’s been contaminated. I think if you’ve eaten it and it tasted ok then I wouldn’t worry.
If you start having tummy troubles phone your midwife but I’m sure you’ll be fine. xx
