Just curious, how long is the first wake window for your LO before their nap? And then how long is their wake window before bedtime? How long is your LO sleeping overnight?
I’m having the hardest time with my son. He’s mainly on one nap a day, but his naps haven’t been long enough. Also if i try to put him down for another nap- that would make his bedtime around 10pm when usually it’s 8ish. His first wake window seems to be 3.5/4 hours max. And then the next wake window is 6/7 hours. He’s been doing this thing where he wakes up around 4/5am and goes back to sleep in an hour or two.
Any suggestions on better sleeping patterns would be appreciated. I am exhausted🫠

Switch your wake window lengths around! Once they’re on 1 nap a day they actually need a longer wake window in the morning (5-6 hours) and then shorter before bed (4-5 hours). It sounds crazy but it works!

I sleep trained my boy as used to wake up in the middle of the night and that was the only way that made him sleep the whole night from 10pm till 9 am. He had some days lately waking 7 or 8 am that ruined some days so I let him had a nap at 8pm and woke up 8:30 pm and started his night sleep at 11 pm which got him back on the track. His naps are always very short just 30 mins so first Wake window when is long like 4 hours he naps 1 hour at 1pm and sleeps for 1 hour and then next wake window is 5 or 5:30 and wakes at 6 or 6:30pm then sleeps at 10 or 10:30 pm.

I see….Just cold turkey extend the first wake window to 5/6 hours?

Wake up between 7-8am, nap 1-2:30/3, down for bed between 8:8:30

you can gradually extend to make it easier on your little one. Personally the first time I tried keeping my son up longer he did it no problem. I guess it was just time for him to switch!

Wake 7am
Nap 11:30/12pm-1:30/2:30
Bedtime 9pm

Wake 5-6 am (which works for our family because we need to leave the house usually by 6:45 am)
Nap 11am -12~1 pm
Bed 7:30~8pm
