Shes only 4 weeks old so her cardiorathic rythem won't be set yet unfortunately have to ride it through till it changes xx
Shes only tiny still they will have longer wake windows at night for a while took 3 or 4 months for my daughter to get her days and nights sorted
(First Time Mum) Between newborn and 6 weeks my little girl was waking up every 2 - 3 hours. Nappy change and feed then back to sleep. We've found keeping her awake for an hour before going to sleep at night (usually around 10/11pm Seems to have helped her sleep a little longer. Now at 9 weeks (10 weeks this Sunday) she sleeps from 10pm until 6am, has a nappy change and a bottle and then goes back to sleep from 7am until 10:30am. And now only has 1 hour naps every couple of hours. What you've described is pretty normal, but if you want to. I would recommend trying keeping her a wake/stimulated with a toy or something for an hour before bedtime and see how that goes... it may take a few trys for them to get used to it x
I just went with whatever baby did the first 6 weeks. If she wanted to be up we were up and if she wanted to sleep (anytime from 8pm to 8am) we would sleep. Since we cosleep I do a dream feed at her first “wake” so about 6 hours after falling asleep for my girl. They are still functioning off of maternal melatonin from pregnancy until about 8 weeks so just make sure they get lots of day time light during the early and midday hours and limit that light a few hours before going to bed.
If It's possible for you I really feel like dream feeding my baby helped a lot but even though some nights she can sleep between 5 and 7 hours straight there are some nights that she still just needs a little extra and I think it's normal. I also don't usually put my baby to bed until 10:30 or 11:00 p.m. so I continue the daily schedule of eating and playing and napping until then and then she usually eats and goes to sleep shortly after and she will stay asleep. But I try to make my dream feed for around then after she's had her last nap.
