I would tell people freshly into a relationship to get to know the family before marriage or kids. You never know what you’re going to marry into if you don’t. If I would’ve known my finances family was this way I definitely would’ve backed off more.

I would really ask them truly what they want in life and I’d ask to get to know their family too. Who your life partners family and their goals are so important because if they don’t match the lifestyle you want it will cause resentment later on and fail the relationship

My top 2 pieces of advice are communicate, communicate, communicate, and get established with a couples therapist BEFORE you have a problem that needs attention.

I would tell them that even tho society has agreed that a person is an “adult” at 18; our brain development doesn’t stop until the age of 25! The part of our brain which allows us to process the pros & cons of a decision before it is made isn’t mature until we reach our mid 20s! So I wouldn’t advise anyone to make any PERMANENT or life changing decisions with their lives until they reach that age! no matter how “mature” or “ready” a person might feel, it’s best to wait until ur brain 🧠is fully developed :)
And I also would advice ppl to build a solid FOUNDATION; I think relationships crumble these days because there was never a proper foundation to begin with!
No matter how “solid” the relationship appears to be or how long the couple has been together; it will always fall apart regardless because there was holes in the foundation :)

Do some values work, what you are able to compromise on versus what you are a definite no on.

No marriage or relationship is perfect. Don't compare, COMMUNICATE, and be willing to compromise. I feel like 90% of relationships are ending because of insecurities, communication issues and comparing things, relationships or just anything in general.

Listen to your gut.
