I’ve not had my appointment yet. What do they ask? All babies are so different!

I've got mine booked but got the questionnaire through the other day, I compared it to my daughters one, I thought my son was more advanced than she was, turns out it's the other way round 😂 I'm not worried by these, I was so stressed the first time but honestly it's not a review I give too much thought about now, I think we know our babies, if I'm worried then I'll act on it but otherwise I don't mind when they learn certain skills

id like to know this too! Do they get in contact with you about it? I’ve not heard anything
You’re right they’re all so different! I think I compare far too much!

This is the questionnaire for those wondering :) https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://www.oxfordpediatric.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/asq9.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjy5KqInvuGAxWTUkEAHZXWAiQQFnoECAQQAQ&usg=AOvVaw09eOjL9RacFSz1A9QOpqj6

The think about the questionnaires is they have skills that they really should be able to do, some that 50% will be doing and some that only a handful will be doing, don't stress if you meet most of them, they're not designed to all be ticked

My son can do most of it but doesn’t double babble. The health visitor seemed to see this as an issue and said that she’s going to follow up with us at 12 months which she made sure we understood “isn’t normal practice”. I didn’t really like the tone of it to be honest. He’s so advanced in many ways but he’s not overly vocal yet. You know your baby best, don’t let the milestones worry you! Every baby is different.

such a shame there was a tone. My son was a bit behind in gross motor skills but they just said they would phone in 4 weeks and see how he is getting on. That every skill can develop at a different time and he’s prob just been busy fine tuning his fine motor, etc. Even in the days since the appt he is already starting to do some of the things I ticked “no”.
I’m sorry you didn’t get the same kind of advice from yours!!

sounds like you’ve been given a better approach! Ours kept saying “he should be doing that”, “I’d expect him to do that by now”. Tried suggesting he has hearing problems despite me saying he understands and hears fine, Never had a good experience with a health visitor to date!

Looking at that questionnaire my baby looks behind in quite a few things, we'll see...🤔
Is the health visitor contacting you for the appointment? As I haven't heard anything so far (9 months old today)

My baby can’t do many of those things in the questionnaire!

I’m also finding it interesting as I was sent the questionnaire by another link (https://www.chkd.org/uploadedFiles/Documents/Pediatric/ASQ3%20-%2010%20Month.pdf) and that states the age range is 9mo 0 days to 10mo 30 days. The one posted above is for just 9 months. Even that is confusing. Is it for 9 month olds, or 9&10 months!
Either way, I’m going with my HV’s approach which is to keep practicing the things he isn’t doing yet and reassess in a few weeks. I hope everyone doesn’t panic as my boy isn’t doing them all and they were still very happy with him!

I’ve not heard of this questionnaire and my baby is 9mo. I’m in Wales though. Anyone know if it’s the same process?

Are we supposed to book this appointment ourselves or is someone meant to contact? I’ve not heard anything from anyone 🤔

I was sent a letter with an appointment, with the questionnaire sent with the letter. It’s a 9-12 month review but I understand in my area they seem to offer this at the earlier end of the age range x

thank you! Was this from the GP or HV? X

health visitor! X

I've not had mine yet!! Xx
