ADVICE!

GET YOUR LO TESTED!

My boy developed eczema at 3mo apparently caused because the craddle cap.
Hydrocortisone (Daktacor) did nothing.
Hydration did nothing.
At 6mo finally they refered him to dermatologist.
Two weeks of steroids (Trimovate) and two weeks of hydrocortisone (Daktacort)
And try to avoid cows milk protein to check if that could be the reason.
He get better but once the treatment was finished he flared up again.

So I came to Spain for holidays, to visit my family and I took him to a private pediatrician. First thing he told me is to dont avoid cows milk as we dont know if that is the reason, and also that creams only help he exterior for a short period of time, then the flares up comes again

He prescribed us some creams, lotions and a blood-alergy test.
I will post any improvement of my LOs skin!

If he is 6 months and has started on solids and has an IgE allergy then you will be able to tell straight away usually

Hi! I second this πŸ‘†πŸ» I am also from Spain and I was thinking to go there for an allergy test as here the GP told me his eczema was β€œnormal” and it can take years to disappear so just told me to moisturise him πŸ˜’ We finally changed his doctor and they referred him to an allergy specialist and a dietitian πŸ™πŸ» We are now waiting for the appointment, hopefully he will get tested soon, hope your LO is doing better 🩷

We started solids at 6 but his face has been literally bleeding since 5mo so it was difficult to see any difference between alergy and eczema.
The thing is, he was formula feeding since he was 2mo with kendamil and he was perfect

Hola paisana! πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ
They told me the same. Eczema is normal, it'll go away with creams and moisturizer. He just get worst.
And the NHS dermatologist just gave us a bunch of creams aswell, but every skin problem comes from inside. I cant believe they rather give steroids to a baby than make an alergy or blood test.

Definetely you are gonna have more luck in Spain, even if is a private one and you have to spend lot of money, is gonna be worth!
Thank you, and good luck with your wee one aswell πŸ’™πŸ’ƒπŸ»

The same here. I went to GP and they told me, it is normal and gave some cream and sterpid which did nothing.
I went to my country with tears in eyes to get any help with my 6 months old. Privately costs like 40 pounds and it took 2 days to wait for the appointment.
Doctor was shocked that he was left like this with his condition. His face was scratched to the blood.

We did straight away all the tests. And we had all our answers in week in my country.

The best thing, GP told me to try small amount of the common allergens.
Good, I did tests first which came out strong allergy on nuts..in UK it took me 6 montsh to wait for the skin tests. So I don't know what would happen if not that I am from different country.

Plus specialist in Poland gave Protopic which is not steroid cream but still active one. Probably the best to use it especially on face. Recommended by most dermatologists.
Here in UK they refuse to prescribe it, becuase it costs too much for NHS. Even that doctor in GP says that it is the best to use. I have to buy from online pharmacies and it 50 pounds for tube.
But they will give for free tones of steroid creams for little children which has so many side symptoms.

Can I ask you how the results came back for your wee one?
Im starting to think mine could be alergic to humidity, as he was worst when we was in Scotland. We came to Spain and he get better, but we've had a few days of storm/rain/humidity and he got worst again

(He only has in his face and neck. And some little spots in arms and legs)
