Floaties like the one above are not recommended by life guards and they can easily flip over. We use life vests for the pool and beach. Life vests with the strap between the legs are best for little ones.

@Ashley can you share which ones you have or what they look like? Love the idea of my daughter being able to move more freely in the pool !

@Ashley I used the float last summer when she was 5-7 months old in my mom's pool. I understand these and other pool toys are not life saving devices so they're used with adults within arm's reach. An infant life jacket is still bigger than she is so it's very uncomfortable, put it on her at 6 months for a boat ride.

I use one that's similar to this but definitely recommend one with a handle on the back for safety.

that's completely understandable. I just don't want an accident with one of these being used at the beach or out of arms reach with an older child. My daughter flipped hers when she was around 10 months and luckily I was right there with her. It scared me hafe to death and I will never use one again.

omg too cute he is living his best life! Lol

My son didn’t like the baby floats when we tried at 5 months because he couldn’t move and he just laid there looking upset. But as soon as we put him in a life jacket and held him he was kicking away trying to swim. We recently took him to the pool again at 17 months and it was the same situation. It is more constricting for me though because I couldn’t put him down but he was happy so I was happy. 😊
