I have been exclusively nursing and Pumping for stock but we are slowly introducing a bottle of milk. For the life of me holding a bottle under the faucet of scolding water doesn't seem to heat the milk.
Is it because I'm using a plastic bottle? Is there a trick? What's the quickest way to heat a bottle?
Equally have you ever given you little one cold/room temp/not super warm milk? Does it matter? Personal preference of the baby?

Milk temp is personal preference for each baby! I use an electric bottle warmer to heat my bottles. You can find them on Amazon for around $20/$30. Definitely worth it in my experience!

Even I am exclusively pumping for my LO, i bought bottle warmer but it takes forever. So what I do is, I warm a glass of water in microwave for 1 minutes and put the bottle in that warm water, keep it for like 1 minutes and it’s ready. I use both glass and plastic bottles, that trick work like charm plus no water wastage, no money wastage and no crying baby. 😉

i just keep it in a breast milk bag and heat it up in that under hot water in the sink, super fast! i have a bottle warmer but just do that bc it’s way faster

I use an electric bottle warmer. But when baby wasn’t drinking enough to use a bottle warmer, I simply put scalding water in a cup/bowl and put the bottle in there for 3-5 minutes! I now formula feed and have given baby room temp, warmed fully and slightly warmed bottles. Room temp are when we’re on the move, slightly warmed at night because she’s losing her mind and fully warm during the day when I have a moment. I’ve never goven a cold bottle as I don’t think she would take it.

My baby takes a cold bottle straight from the fridge half the time 🤷♀️ he doesn’t have the patience to wait for it to warm. As long as he’s eating he doesn’t care what temp it is

does your baby have gas problems ? I have been told by my friend (who is mom of 3) that if I give cold milk, it can cause gas and be sure to warm it up🤷♀️

Mine does not. We alternate between formula and breast milk and he will take both at either temp. And we haven’t had any issues. You can always just try one bottle and see they take it. If baby doesn’t like it they just might spit it out and then you can go warm it - that’s what we do if we’re staying somewhere else and the fridge is more cold than he’s use to.
