Train with a toddler

I’m travelling down south for 2 hours on a train with my toddler, his dad has to work so he can’t come with. I’m so anxious about the whole situation and was wondering if anyone can give any tips on how to keep the LO calm and distracted cause I want to eliminate his getting off his seat as much as possible (once hes up he won’t sit down)

Following as we're also planning a train journey. My husband will be with us but we'll also have a newborn.

Not tested ideas by I was going to pack lot's of snacks, her yoto player (will buy headphones) some pencils and a few different toys, maybe a new one or something she hasn't had in a while we can get out throughout the journey. Will probably do some screen times too. Good luck.

I did two trains, tube and taxi with my 15 month old recently. I’d get plenty of snacks, something to colour, and if they watch any shows download them as there is no signal, I let her walk up and down the aisle when we weren’t at a station. Usually the carriage near the toilet has more room

Plenty of snacks, drinks , something to keep them busy

Have you seen those busy boards? It’s basically a felt file of pages of various puzzles etc to keep them busy for ages! I bought my niece one and she loves it!

Snacks and tablet. This was literally the only thing that kept my 22 month in his seat. I downloaded his favourite programme and we ended up having a very pleasant journey! Good luck.

Stickers always go down well for us on flights and those waterless colouring books are a great distraction too. I’m sure it’ll be fine and go smoother/ quicker than you think ☺️
