Has anyone tried the Tesco own brand of the maternity pads and do they literally work the same as the expensive ones?

If you’re talking for after birth, I would use these by putting one inside the maternity underwear or the incontinence pants as they are also cheaper! I found just a pad was useless x

thank you, yeah it would be a layer up pad after birth instead of just a pad on it’s own 🙂

Yes I used the Tesco ones and they were fine

I used these in my normal (bigger) knickers and they were fine even immediately after birth. But see how much you bleed after as both postpartums I wasn’t a heavy bleeder but others are

Yeah I don't think you need expensive ones- i tried a couple own brand pads from various shops and didn't notice any difference. I also swore by the incontinence pants, so much easier and comfier to fit such big pads! Plus less worries about leakage.

I used the boots ones and they’re about the same price I believe. But I have used Tesco also and they were fine. Probably depends on the person and bleed amount.

I found the Aldi disposable pants great for the first few days (won’t win any awards for sexy underwear but you won’t care at that point!), and then used boots own pads after that in my normal underwear (they look like they’re just like the Tesco ones youve pictured)
I had more expensive lillets pads which were no where near as comfortable, the cheaper ones seemed to have more “cushion” which you’ll appreciate after birth 😂

I used these with just some really big knickers straight after birth and they worked perfectlyeven with pretty heavy bleeding during breastfeeding. I didn't like the disposable knickers and much preferred these.

Yes they are good. I used them with big period pants as a back up for any leaks once i was home. I was in hospital for 4 days so used the hospital and the mesh pants then.

I've bought some of these. After I had my son I used Sainsbury's (we lived nearer to that than Tesco then). I've got disposable pants as well for the first few days, rather than wearing normal ones, I'm case I bleed really heavily. I definitely used more pads than I expected to so I'm stocking up this time

I used the Tescos ones and they did the job!!

I used tonnes of Sainsbury's own brand 1s they were good. I didn't like the faff of having to bend and take everything off to change disposable pants

Boots own brand was the best

I personally didnt get on with them they were too narrow and thick it felt like everything just slid of them (sorry horrible image painted😅) the lillet ones were my savour as a mid/plus size girly xx

Haven’t tried them so probably not helpful but the lillets next to it (purple and green pack) have been a godsend! Super thick and sooo comfortable!

They have wings at front and back too so don’t really move out of place/ crinkle up when you’re moving around xx

Yes, you're changing them regularly so it doesn't really matter much tbh

I just used Kotex night ones which were just as good and only £1 from bodycare x

Yep, I used these and they were great

I used these after I stopped using the maternity pants when my bleeding got a bit lighter and they were great. I still use them now on my heavy period days 🫣

I just wear the massive adult pull-ups saves my poor underwear, smelling with stains x

@Kalpana I'd say looser clothing the better- leggings might be a bit tight and uncomfortable. I think I wore loose jogging bottoms (but it was back in Feb so not as warm as now!!) Bottom line though- whatever you're comfortable in. If you can, take a selection so you can choose on the day!

I didn’t like them I did diapers lol

Tesco ones did the job for me just fine!

These were amazing! I put some aloe Vera gel on them and then froze it. Made my own padsicles for a fraction of the price, really soothing those first few days
