Phillips Avent and Dr. Browns lawsuit

Has anyone else looked at the lawsuit for micro plastics with Phillips Avent and Dr. Brown’s bottles? The only bottle my daughter can use is Phillips avent with the anticolic insert… What bottles are y’all using? And are y’all concerned about this lawsuit?

I use Phillips anti colic also and I can't afford to buy any other bottles so it really sucks

Is this including the glass bottles? I use the avent naturals, but glass form. Same with Dr. Brown.

no! Just the plastics!

Avatar

Please say this isn’t case!!

This is all my baby uses . If it’s not one thing its another 😩

If there's any consolation for anyone, the Dr. Brown anti colic glass bottles work better than plastic. My son was less colicky with those😅

@Emily this is so heart breaking. Nothing really is safe 😔

Have you found a way to get on the lawsuit?

Avatar

At this point I’m starting to think nothing is safe…. :(

Avatar

I have not! I just saw it on TikTok today and went to see if it was true!

So do we need to change the bottles our babies use now? I don't even know what else to go to😫

Avatar

I'm pretty sure at this point in time we're all ingesting high levels of micro plastics unfortunately.

That being said, we've been transitioning her to the glass Avent bottles and we don't use bottle warmers anymore.

I use Dr brown but I was using both the plastic and glass now I’m just gonna use the glass version only

Avatar

Okay, at first I freaked but then it made sense because all plastic releases microplastics

Avatar

and
apparently even breast milk itself and baby formula has microplastics

Basically everything has microplastics, fruit, veg, eggs, tap water 🤷🏽‍♀️

I was panicking as I have only come to realise about microplastics yesterday. Literally only catching up to this phenomenon now. So I came across it because I realised bottled water has microplastics and I was really sad as I have been breastfeeding and o thought this is horrific for my baby! But then I have been reading studies and articles about it and I’ve realised we have microplastics in everything. Meat, vegan, organic, self grown food-all of it

Avatar

I had my panic during pregnancy but realized there really isn't a way to avoid it. I do what I can to cut down the overall amount but there's micro plastics in literally everything nowadays.

That being said, I use glass/steel where I can vs plastic.

Avatar

yeah, I have come to this realisation too. It’s just a matter of trying our best. I haven’t started using bottles for baby yet, but I’ll go for glass too. And even before learning about microplastics, I’ve never been a fan of warming food up in plastic. I had an idea that, even when they say it’s microwave safe - it probably isn’t 🤣 but yeah, I agree- what you have said is a sensible strategy.

Avatar

@Barbra it's something I've known, but to me it's like the less he gets the better if that makes sense. I've stuck to warming my breastmilk up to only glass bottles. I've always preferred glass items(cups plates etc) over plastic for whatever reason. So this pushes me more. 😅

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
