Be honest - Thoughts on the name Rowena?
I don’t know why I’m doing this because I love the name and so does my husband. I’m 39 + 4 and on mat leave now so daydreaming away as planned.
If we have a girl, we will likely call her Rowena. It’s classic and lovely, an old name yet not common. It also has some good nickname choices; Roe, Rosie, Ren, Remi and Winnie - cute!
Better yet, there’s a subtle nod to Harry Potter as we’re both obsessed and have been since the books first came out.
I just want to know what you guys think please? Also, when the time comes and if we’re blessed enough to have a boy, what name would go nicely with Rowena? We’d like a Welsh boys name or old Celtic name that’s not common but has the same charms as Rowena.

My daughter’s name is Rowen, so adding an A sounds just fine to me! Haha.
I prefer Rowan. I also love Rosie, Rosa, Rosemary. Rooney could be another option. I think it’s the eee sound in Rowena that I don’t like.
although I wasn't aware of the subtle Harry Potter reference, i think the name Rowena is beautiful - as you say, classic and elegant. the name Rowan seems pretty popular at the moment, and while Rowena is fairly similar, it is definitely less common and gives a lovely vintage, timeless vibe. 💕
i also agree that the nickname options are super cute - i love Roe/Ro, Ren and Winnie especially! other possibile nicknames are Rory, Rowie, Ronnie, Reena/Rena, Reenie, Wen, Enya! 💕

Rowena is a beautiful Welsh name! My cousin is Rowena and I’ve called her Ro-Ro since I was a little girl and my nickname is Chlo-bo.
Males me think of supernatural I like it a lot
