Baby sun hat! Sunscreen! Stroller! Download a couple videos on your phone for the flight! Definitely a good water bottle and Sippy Cup. Snacks.

At 8 months I’m not sure they have the hand-eye coordination or not, but bucket and shovel for digging is always a hit for my kid. She loves just playing in the sand! We brought a big sun tent/canopy so my daughter could stay in the shade out of the sun while playing in the sand. Highly recommend!!! It gets SO bright. Especially if you’re staying for several hours. Sunglasses/hat/sunscreen too. Also consider a bathing suit for them with long sleeves to fully cover from the sun.

For planes: masking/painter’s tape!!! 😝 I would rip a ton of little pieces off and stick them to the tray table/seat back and she would spend most of the flight just picking and peeling them off haha! Easy kid game!

you can bring your stroller to the beach if you like, but just know that the sand may ruin the wheels and make the gears sand-crunchy for the rest of its life. 😅 We always leave ours in the car when we go to the beach, just to be safe. 😅

But on that note, we do bring our stroller through the airport, with our kid in it, so it’s easier getting around the airport (or she can sleep in it if it’s a red-eye). And then when you board at the gate you can check the stroller right before getting on the plane. Then it’s waiting for you at the end of the flight. 👍🏻 And if you’re bringing a car seat, check it in when you check your bags in (before security). But know that it sometimes gets gross/dirty in-transit. So we usually cover it with a big trash bag (or I think you can buy covers online?) so that it doesn’t get dirty in-transit.

Ooo! Also, a big one: make sure to bring milk/water/snacks for your kid to drink/eat upon take-off and landing. It helps with the popping in their ears if they are actively swallowing. 👍🏻

For snacks I bought my kids the GoBe! It’s like a snack disk thing and it fits in a beach bag or carryon bag or diaper bag PERFECTLY! Loved it when my babies were small!
