I'm a first time mum that has no idea what I'm doing. I was wondering how many Bodysuits is enough for a new born upto 3 months
How many Bibs is enough?
How many Muslin cloths?
How many nappies do newborn go through in one day?
How much milk should they be drinking?
Sorry for all the questions!
Any other general information that you can share will be appreciated!
Thanks in advance x

Bodysuits you will need about 9
Bibs 9
Muslin 9
Nappies thay go through a lot

Do you have a washer & dryer? The baby goes through onesies a LOT (spit ups & blowouts.) I have about 10 newborn onesies and 10 0-3, and 10 3-6 etc. But I do lots of laundry. Also, my baby is a summer baby and it’s always hot so she hardly wears the pajamas with the footies. Just onesies all day unless she leaves the house. Prepare based on the time of year and whether you have a washer/dryer.

My baby was more of a dribbler than a sicky baby. So really only more one outfit /grow at a time.
I prefer muslin clothes to bibs.
I was strict on only buying essentials clothes as f&f will gift you clothes.
I loved plain white on my new born as it made it easy to wash everything together at once.
Don’t buy loads of new born /first size - if your baby is small you can always go buy more.
But they’ll grow out if them SO fast you don’t need much.
Nappies I’d recommend picking a pack up each time you go the supermarket in advance.

Haven’t had my baby yet but I only have like 10 new born onesies and like 5 newborn sleepers, then like 15 0-3 month sleepers and then like 20 onesies.
As for diapers both my sisters told me I won’t need a lot of newborn diapers as baby will put on weight fast. I have a few packs of NB and the plan is to buy as I go so I don’t over do it. I also stacked up in diapers up to size 3.
I kinda overdid it with the bibs cause both her dad and I bought like two packs of 10

Bibs and muslins you can never have enough of as when feeding they can soak in each feed.
If your baby is born now summer time I would recommend getting around 10-15 vests & 5-8 onesies as that’s all you’ll use for the first few weeks &can wash/buy more if needed. You’re better off getting a mix of up to one month & 0-3 months clothes instead of new born as they can fit into bigger clothes but not smaller ones. You can fold the sleeves up until they grow into it and vests it’s fine abit big. I stopped using newborn size after 3weeks-1 month old (born 8.3lbs)
Nappies I would say approx 8-10 nappies a day.
Newborns feed a lot! There is no exact amount but they will let you know when they want to eat so go off of their hunger cues (sticking out tongue, hand to mouth, crying) and as long as they’re putting on weight & having wet nappies it’s ok x

I wouldn’t go all out buying stuff as family will more than likely buy you things and you will end up with too much.
I think it’s better to get less and then you can always top up when the baby is here if needed. Nothing is too difficult to get hold of in this modern era. Most of this can just come from a supermarket trip.
I would agree that 9 of anything is more than enough.

Bodysuits maybe 10ish short sleeve? And maybe 5 long sleeve, depending on time of year.
Bibs you might not need until baby is a little bit older, unless baby spits up a lot. I would say maybe get 10ish of these too.
Muslins are the same, I asked on here how many is “loads” like everyone kept saying, and half the people said they never needed them and the other half had sicky babies and said loads lol. We ended up with a sicky baby and used about 5-10 a day!
Your washing machine will need to be on a lot so I guess it just depends on how often you will wash as to how many of a lot of things you need…
Nappies maybe 8-12 a day? I would avoid getting too many before baby is born, as you never know what size you will need and for how long. Also the fit is so different depending on brand so I would just have a couple of packs and then see which work/fit best, and you can send someone out for a pack and have them in no time if you need to. In Aldi they’re so cheap no need to panic buy ☺️
