Ok so i am going to sound woo woo here perhaps but i’ve gone on holiday abroad and all my symptoms totally disappeared. No sickness, no heart burn, no exhaustion, it was a MIRACLE. I genuinely had the best week yet of my pregnancy (i’m 11 weeks). Before this i felt horrendous.
As soon as we get home, i’ve gone into the kitchen and the smell in there has made me immediately throw up. I’m unsure whether our kitchen actually smells (my partner can’t smell it) or whether it’s a psychological thing… could hypnotherapy maybe cure this (is it allowed in pregnancy?)
Or, do i need to get him to deep clean our kitchen and hope that works? (Our house is new and we are very clean people so i’m not sure if this would really do anything!)
If anyone’s experienced the same, what did you do please?!

I also have an aversion to the smell of my own kitchen as well and even more so when it smells of cleaning product 🤷♀️ no idea why!!

Im exactly the same and i cant stand the smell of cleaning producys either i keep smelling like a damp horrible smell my husband cant smell it

There’s a girl called Carys (James and Carys) on YouTube and she had hypnosis in pregnancy as she found the trigger was her house smells and that’s the only reason she was being sick still. She said it worked. I cant remember if she has a YouTube about it. But she’s definitely said she had it for her sickness. Good luck xx

that’s so funny, i’ve been watching one of her first trimester vlogs on and off for the last few weeks and i’ve just finished it and she mentioned it! I’m definitely going to give it a go in that case - thank you!

I have to avoid the kitchen, or anyone’s kitchen in any house because of the smell, even though I know it’s clean I can’t bear it for some reason, ESPECIALLY fridges… omds

it’s horrendous isn’t it? My kitchen and utility are out of bounds for me, the only way is if i wear a face mask and am super quick in and out, or i get my partner to start cooking something and once the smell of the food surrounds the room, i can go in. I’ve also had to get him to remove all reed diffusers/plug in’s and put them in sandwich bags and take them to his mum’s house so they are no where near me 🤢 easy to avoid certain food/drink smells but your own house/fridge is a nightmare…

I had this first pregnancy - our bathroom made me vomit

did anything help? And when did it go away?

I fill up the sink with water and dettol. It blocks out any other scent!
