Toddler has eczema

How are we treating this in our little ones? My doctor says it’s not a big deal and just keep applying cream but it’s definitely not getting any better.
My 16 month old has bad flare ups in creases of elbows, behind her knees, and ankles.
We have tried eucerine(aquaphor), aveno for eczema wash and lotion, and breastmilk baths.
It really bothers her and she scratches so much ☹️

I believe excema is causes from within. But currently no actual cure for it. There are lots of treatments that help ease and reduce the symptoms.

I use an aloe based Bee Oropolis cream, Aloe hand and body wash, and an aloe gelly. I also give my little one a little of the aloe gel drink and everything has settled down a lot x

Use the process of elimination to determine which foods cause flare ups

Then figure out which natural products help improve their skin

my son has had chronic eczema since he was 3 months old. the poor kid would scatch his face like he was trying to rip his skin off (very traumatic for me seeing his face and body covered in scabs and blood. got so bad it was classified as a first degree burn and was wrapped in bandages) my pediatrician prescribed literally (not even exaggerating) every topical possible for months until he turned one and nothing helped. got prescribed a steroid after bath oil which literally was magic. still has flare ups here and there since we live in florida and the heat is horrible. but as i did more research i was scared of TSW (topical steroid withdrawal) and it would be worse than before if i stopped using the steroid oil. i was finally able to get into a pediatric dermatologist and were starting an injection called dupixent which from all my research is the closest thing to a “cure” so that on top of the honey eczema brand has been life changing for the both of us. the honey eczema lotion was

the only one that didn’t make him more itchy compared to other brands. even before the injections. i also don’t use warm water for bath time, more like room temp. i also keep him in long sleeves and pants to help protect it from itching. but i recommend form fitting so the sleeves and pant legs don’t move so it doesn’t feel like the clothes are scratching him. also only cotton clothing. the honest company sells packs of clothes on amazing that are 100% cotton. sorry i went on a bit of a rant lol but it was a horrible first year due to the severe eczema so ill give my advice wherever i can lol

La Roche Passat A+p lotion every night after bath is the only cream that’s helped my son

also like all these comments, he has a dairy allergy so has been dairy free since he was 3 months and is 1.5 now

Try an oatmeal bath. But also check out this product called Magic Cataplasm. It’s from S.K. Skin Kare. It’s helped my son with everything

I was told to use CeraVe for baby when my daughters eczema was bad.

yea! if you mean lonely like alone, i’m on the same boat lol im a first time single mom so i definitely understand. omg yes zinc helped so much dry it out, i honestly bought the triple paste diaper cream to put on the really bad spots. and my pediatrician never told me about tsw either! i ended up seeing it on a random instagram post in the comments. i was mind blown. so since he had his first injection a month ago, im starting to ween him off the steroid. i really hope you don’t have to go down the path of injections and steroids. but honestly as scary as it sounds, i would still have made the same decision because of how much it helped until i found a solution. he was basically bubble wrapped 😂 i couldn’t bring him outside, he was an extremely fussy and colicky/acid reflux baby so it was one problem after another and when he cried, he got hot, which triggered itching. i have so many tips that helped that i would love to help if needed! don’t hesitate to reach out!!

my girl had CMPA. So, once we switched formulas, she was cleared up.
