Has he been doing any wee’s on the potty previously or will this be the first introduction to the potty?

this will be the first time. The potty has always been out so he could see it etc but he’s never done anything on it

I would suggest just trying a couple of nappy free days at home first. If he starts to wee on the potty then you know you’re going in the right direction. I tried with my boy at Christmas. Day 1 was fine but day 2 he was getting really upset about sitting on the potty so I decided it wasn’t worth it. We kept the potty out at home and encouraged him to sit on had lots of nappy free time when we were home in the evenings and tried again at Easter. It was great super easy he was happy and confident with sitting on the potty, I brought a travel potty so we could still go out and about as I can’t stand being housebound and honestly he’s been fantastic. Doesn’t even use the potty anymore we’ve got a step and he uses the toilet now instead. Obviously we have the odd accident. Accidents are very common and very normal even up until 5 years old so don’t be disheartened if your little one keeps having accidents as it’s all part of the learning process ☺️ hope it goes well for you

She is nappy free and choose whether to wear knickers or go bare bummed, I ask her if she needs a wee every 15 or so mins that was the first 3 days but now we are on day 7 and she tells me she needs a wee and usually does do one or if she doesn't I say good try, sometimes she doesn't even tell me and she just comes to find me if I'm doing chores etc and says I've done a wee! We have a smiley face chart which if she does 5 wees she gets a treat but every wee she does she gets a marshmallow, still going out in nappies but taking carry potty with us, poos a little hit and miss as she can suffer with constipation so can become worried and upset when she needs a poo but she has done 2 poos on the potty x
