leaving partner

I just need a little vent session and maybe some advice or some comments from some mothers who have been through this. I think i am finally going to leave my kids father. I feel like i am a single mother in a relationship and it is so draining. The load is always on me and he doesn’t seem to understand and i don’t think he ever will. We have been together for 5 years and have 2 kids together and I’m 5 months postpartum and just feeling drained. Like if anything i want and need to feel LOVE! Like i don’t feel in love with him, there’s no romance, barely any connection, no affection or anything. And honestly when he tries to be affectionate i don’t even want him touching me. Ugh i think im finally ready to leave him but i am just so scared… he has been all i have known for the past 5 years & the thought of just going through the whole process of finding someone (when i eventually do) just seems so nerve wracking and scary. I’m just nervous, it’s like i love him but i am not in love with him and i just feel like life is too short to not have that fairytale love that i want because i know it’s out there somewhere. Any advice mamas? Anyone else go through with leaving their partners and how was your experience?

If you're leaving, then I would make a plan for yourself and your kids. What will your life look like, and what will custody look like? Feeling like a single mom and being a single mom are very different...if you're both already working, that's great. If you're not working, then you'll be surviving off your own income.

Something to keep in mind is that it's not usually a good idea to make major relationship decisions or life decisions within a year of having a baby. Lots of changes are taking place, and having kids really test a relationship.
