Hi all, I’m hoping to get some advice♥️
I am currently in my second trimester with my first baby. My closest friend has been on her TTC journey for 2 years now. We had discussed announcements to each other at great length prior to both trying to ensure each other’s needs and feelings were handled properly and respectfully.
I told her about my positive test at the earliest possible time in the way we had agreed, sensitively and over text, and gave her the time she needed to respond x
I found out very early in my pregnancy and it’s now been around 4 months of her knowing. I am still waiting for her to be ready.
I am not going to push her as I can only imagine what she is feeling but I am starting to feel very lonely and guilty that I have lost my closest friend over something I am so happy about.
I want to share my feelings with her but really don’t want to sound insensitive. I’m hoping some of you lovely people will be able to give me some advice on how to tackle this.
I love her and don’t want to lose her over this but I feel like I already have

You have to act quite sensitively, try not to make everything about the baby. I would reach out to her and ask her how she’s doing. I think she might not be the person to talk to in great detail regarding how excited you are about your pregnancy. That will be really hard on her. Maybe try to connect with others on here that are going through similar stages.

Hopefully she will get the results she’s been waiting on soon too! I would just try to be available to listen.

It sounds like you've been nothing but understanding and tactful. The ball is clearly in her court. Even if it's a little difficult for her, she should be happy for you! We all have different journeys - it's part of life. x

I have been that person who has struggled. Me and my husband had been trying for over 5 years before we finally got pregnant. Our good friends fell pregnant back in 2022 by accident. We were still ecstatic for them and have always made an effort to be apart of their little girls life.
You’ve been as kind as you possibly can, but you deserve to be happy, not guilty because you have something right now that your friend would also like, doesn’t make you any less deserving.
I would express how you are feeling as you have in this post. Ultimately she needs to decide, there’s nothing else you can do. Really hope it all goes well, but you do have yourself and baby that need to be prioritised. Xx
