Why are MFAU staff so horrible!!

I have food poisoning have for 24hours now and I can’t keep a single thing down. I also have GDM diet controlled but i was more worried about dehydration because I can’t keep water down i been sipping and it’s just coming back up I called up just to make sure everything im doing is okay as I don’t know how it works when ur ill and don’t eat or drink but u have GDM so I was asking more then wanting to get checked over sort of thing. He was very patronising telling me “I won’t die of starvation” if I don’t eat for a few days.. that wasn’t my question my question was how do I prevent dehydration if im constantly getting sick and will that affect the baby and also not eating will that affect my blood sugars. He then went on today say that’s not our issue that’s more of an A&E issue and if I was concerned to go there 🙄 honestly theses people! I just wanted some advice and was told by the diabetic team that if I had an urgent query’s about my health especially diabetes to contact the MFAU (I’ve also sent the diabetic team a separate email) these people are absolutely useless.

That’s really brutal!! I’m so so sorry. They shouldn’t treat you that way, it’s like they don’t care at all.
It’s really important that you’re drinking tons of water. No need to drink soda or any sugary drinks. Tea is great. Since your belly is empty, your blood sugar is going to be really sensitive so be extra careful with added sugars in anything you eat or drink.
When you’re able to stomach some food, find some whole grain bread with lots of seeds/nuts, that way you can slowly work back into break but at least have protein to help keep your glucose level. You can also try putting nut butter on top of the bread. If you have pasta, trying finding one made of chickpeas or lentils so that it has protein in it, and then you can just have it really plain with a little bit of sea salt and olive oil to help you stay hydrated (salt helps) and coat your belly with the olive oil, which should help soothe it
