Hi ladies,
I'm a first-time mom, currently 27 weeks pregnant. I love chocolates and cookies a lot and I eat chocolates almost every day. I mean, I can eat a whole bar of chocolate every day. I'm just worried about my baby girl and whether it's unhealthy for her. 🥺 Generally, I do eat healthy food, but my problem is that I crave sweet things every day.
How is your pregnancy going? Do you eat chocolates and cookies every day? I also eat fruit, etc., but I still want to eat chocolate and I worry about my baby girl's health. Should I try to cut it out?

My due date is Monday, and I ate so much sweets it’s not even funny.
have you been eating during your pregnancy? I’ve been eating whole my pregnancy 🥺

I will admit I was baddd with this 😅 it was more towards the last few months but I genuinely think I had sweets everyday! I also ate healthy most of the time but I def indulged :) Babygirl was as healthy as could be, and is almost 8 months now! She also loves eating though 😂 enjoy your pregnancy mama it only lasts so long! Plus I always say its not you that wants it, its baby! 🥰

I ate chocolate and biscuits etc etc throughout my pregnancy baby was absolutely fine! They steal all the goodness from you anyway, it’ll be you who is deficient in anything if anyone. Enjoy the chocolate x

Yes. I literally ate a whole family size pack of cookies in 2 days, ate lots of sour patch kids early on, ate chocolate chips/chocolate dipped strawberries my entire pregnancy. No I don’t have Gestational Diabetes, and baby girl is 100% fine!
I was feeling guilty for a long time. Now I do feel better, so I think it’s very normal, thank you!
thank you so much! Im glad to hear these things, I’m not gonna feel guilty anymore🥰🥰

Hey lovely, it sounds like a Magnesium deficiency might be a play as well as general blood sugar dysregulation making you crave sweets.
Try a high protein breakfast (25gr of protein) so something like 2 eggs on sourdough toast with avocado and a cup of cottage cheese. Also try a magnesium supplement (high dose and high quality magnesium glycinate) that should help really reduce those sweet cravings x

Sugar isn’t the best thing for your body even when you’re not pregnant. I was also very naughty and ate all the good stuff (cookies, ice cream, chocolates, cake and more cake). But I also have suffered with sugar intolerance all my life that seemed to go away when I was pregnant so I just enjoyed myself and it was the best time of my life 😅. Your baby will be fine. Try to add high nutrient foods in your diet but absolutely don’t feel guilty.

I'm 33 weeks into my second pregnancy and I think I've eaten either chocolate or lollies every single day....
Like, not heaps, and my blood sugar levels are always on the lower side so I dont over indulge, but I would be the crankiest b*tch if I cut sweet things out of my life in pregnancy!!
If you have a generally healthy diet, indulging those sweet cravings won't hurt. And my first baby came out alright 👌 💕

My diet was shocking during my pregnancy tbh. I did have a growth scan at 34 weeks and was told I had definitely been eating too much sugar as his belly was 98th percentile, and the rest of him was measuring on the 70th 😅. I cut down from then, although still not perfect, and he was born fine xx

My pregnancy diet was just shocking, I used to wake up in the middle of the night and inhale cakes, ice cream and basically everything I could find. My baby boy was perfectly fine but I did gain a lot of pregnancy weight haha x

When I craved sweets I eat fruit, fruit has natural sugars. I’ll make myself a fruit smoothie or juice some veggies every day so I get those nutrients in for me and baby. I didn’t gain alot of pregnancy weight I was all belly and managed to lose all the weight soon after PP. Of course baby will be fine if you eat too many sweets but you may be more prone to gestational diabetes and may gain much more than you need to.

Every day! I’ve had a lot of chocolate and ice cream

My kid was made on McDonald's sprite and nuggets 🤣 she's a string bean and as active as you can get. As long as you're balancing it out with healthy foods and a prenatal to cover your bases it's something many of us go through with our huge hormonal shifts

Eat it, one bar of chocolate doesn’t harm anyone.
And chances are once you satisfy your craving, you might not crave it much.
You could also to 50-70 % chocolate if you like it, they’re healthier

Yes same here girl, I’m 26 weeks and I constantly grave chocolate and sweets and I let myself cause I just think I’m doing all this work growing a baby I deserve it so TREAT YOURSELF ❤️

I would just take the caffeine intake from the chocolate into consideration. 😊 Also, maybe ask your OBGYN because they will know if you should be concerned about gestational diabetes or not. If you find healthier cookies or homemade cookies that could be better than packaged cookies too!

I have never eaten so many sweets as I have done in this pregnancy. And I'm not particularly a sweets person. I've eaten less chocolate though
