Hi Mamas,
We have been giving our baby formula and used to mix it in really hot/boiling water then cool it down. However, our baby gets really impatient when hungry so we started to mix it with room temperature water. It mixes well but I recently read somwhere that it is supposed to be mixed in hot water to kill bacteria.
My baby bas been constipated lately. Do you think this could be the reason? Should we start mixing in boiling water again then cool it down?
Thanks

I had my son on light lactose formula. It was the only formula he could keep down, but it caused him to be constipated until I could take him off of it at 8 months.
we used baby probiotic and restoralax when absolutely needed. amounts given by pharmacist for the restorealax

Our formula we get in Canada is sterile and doesn’t require being mixed with boiling water. You can mix it with distilled water or boiled water brought to room temperature. I don’t know how old your baby is but constipation isn’t uncommon especially for formula fed babies.

which formula is this?

Not all formulas in Canada are sterile. It literally says in Canada.ca powder formulas are not sterile. You are better off using hot water. We are using the pitcher method and it’s been working. That being said I don’t think that would be the reason for constipation.
Thank you. I guess you're right. Formula fed babies poop oess often. Which formula is sterile that you mentioned?
Thank you. I started givinf him probiotic baby drops as well. It works sometimes.
Thanks for your suggestion. Will do😊
