Moving
My husband and I are looking to move into the Garland area to raise our first baby. Is it generally a safe area? The area in Dallas we are in now is not and we do not want to bring a baby home here. Any areas in Garland to avoid? Any ideas/advice on moving to the area?

My girlfriend and I just moved to Garland going on 4 months ago and we haven’t had any issues! It’s 10 min away from Rockwall and Dallas so there’s still plenty to do.
I lived in Garland for a year & we didn’t have any issues. I’m still in the Garland ISD area but living in Rowlett. The schools aren’t the best but I blame the world we live in. I do like the fact that Garland has choice schools so you can pick where you want your kids to go.
I’ve lived in one neighborhood for about a year and just moved to a new one (Kingsley/ Shiloh). The old one Jupiter/buckingham has needles laying in the elementary school parking lot. Both have gun shots every once in awhile. I feel safe with my young daughter in both of them but I wouldn’t go out late at night by myself
My husband and I live near belt line road & shiloh and we really love it. Haven't had any issues and they're building an aquatic center right in our neighborhood now
