If you live with an ex how does it effect your universal credit
Me and my (now ex) partner have broke up and still want to live together as we have no where else to live at the moment, we just have separate rooms now. I have applied for UC as a single person have told UC that he still lives at the address but separate households' even though we share an address, do I need to include them in my claim and if I do will them earning still effect my universal credit. We don’t even speak anymore so my UC has got nothing to do with them

I believe unless your home is classed as" house of multiple occupancy " and you're sharing a house (renting a room) you have to put every adult living with you on the claim, so if his name is on the bills and council tax and tenancy agreement and he contributes towards rent and bills ( even if he doesnt) because his name is on everything you will have to include him as you are living together. But you can always ask at citizens advice bureau for more information or about unusual circumstances 🤔
You stay on a joint claim. Unless you can prove you separately pay for 50% off all bills. That you have separate sleeping arrangements and that you cook and eat separate etc. I’ve just been dealing with this problem unfortunately
