Phlegm cough
My 1 year old nearly 2 has had a cough for almost a month now he’s up every night with it coughing so much and you can hear him bringing up phlegm but obviously to young to spit out so he’s just swallowing it , is there anything at all anyone would recommend to help the cough I feel like I’ve tried everything
(Vapor rub , humidifier, calpol plug in)
He’s been back and forth to doctors and they have just given him a asthma pump which don’t seem to be working.
Any recommendations would be appreciated!

he was given Montelukast granules to take at night
Instead of the pump because he was refusing the pump and they seemed to help , he did get a bad case of hand foot and mouth about a week after his cough started to go so im not sure if that played a part in it
