Bit of a rant to be honest! We worked out yesterday, after 2 months of feeding my daughter using mam bottles, that the measurements on them are incredibly inaccurate! The ounce measurements are almost 1oz out and the ml measurements are 20ml out! We’re so annoyed that because of the bottles we’ve been putting way too little water into the formula bottles we’ve made for the amount of scoops we’ve been adding. Tried contacting mam and they don’t seem to care, they’ve said it’s because of conversions between US/UK but that doesn’t change the fact they’re nowhere near the actual measurements whether you’re using US or UK! Love the bottles themselves but had we known how wrong the measurements were might have chosen different bottles!
*I do understand that no bottles are 100% accurate but 20ml/1oz is a massive inaccuracy when number of formula scoops is based on 30ml/1oz.

I have noticed that different bottles say different measurements! I’ll express and my pump says one measurement and then the mam bottles say way less! So hard to know what is accurate! But thank you for sharing as I thought I was going mad!

It's not just mam bottles. All feeding bottles and milk storage bottles have slightly different measurements on them, non are 100% accurate

yeah, I do get that none are accurate but it’s not just a little bit inaccurate on the mam ones, 20ml is a lot, especially when the number of formula scoops is based on 30ml of water. I’ve checked and the couple of tommee tippee ones we got free with things are much more accurate

That’s really strange I’ve just tested mine out of curiosity and all 3 of the different bottles I have are accurate 🤔 I’ve compared MAM, Tommee tippee and my elvi breast pump and all match up

Isn’t it something to do with the volume being more once the powder is added? So a scoop added to 1oz of water will to take more than 1oz?

nope, I checked the measurements with just plain water, no formula. There was no change in volume once formula was added and properly dissolved

I use a scale all the time. Because I have no trust in the bottles
