Keep ringing them and get out of that room incase it collapses!

Under the bath but the bath panel is screwed on and I have no idea how to take it off, im getting quite worried now

Video document the room above also, so they can’t accuse you of letting the bath fill and run over or anything etc.

Can you shut off the mains water outside the building? Is there a tap on in the room above? That’s a lot of water it seems like there’s a tap/shower on in room above.

If there’s someone else living above you who isn’t home, you should be able to turn off their water meter on the street to stop the water running. If you’re not sure how knock on neighbour’s door and see if they can help

There’s no tap on above, it’s just coming out non stop I’ve had to come upstairs to get out of the way with my daughter. I’ve rang and rang and no answer, I’ve text her aswell I’m hoping she gets back to me soon

There is a stop tap under the bath bath but noticed that you said landlord which means its probably private. I wouldn't try and unscrew the bath panel just in case they try to recharge you but there should be another stop tap in the bathroom. Have a look and see if there's a similar tap on the pipework that you can turn off.

I'd call united utilities and see if they can give you any advice. Or whoever your local water provider is

You’ve turned the stop cock off under the sink which is great, you’ve probably only got what’s left in the tank.

Personally I would keep documenting but also move stuff out of the living room that’s irreplaceable. Keep babies stuff dry.

Calling your water company is a great shout, they might be able to advise where the pipes are and what they think you need to do.

You could also phone the fire brigade if no luck anywhere else x

It’s stopped now, I’m just going to get the carpet cleaner out and get that water up and wait for her to respond

Don’t forget that if you have a child/baby in the house your utility company has to emergency respond within a day or two as you need water (you’re classed as vulnerable).

Don’t let your landlord fob you off with excuses about maybe next week. It gets sorted this weekend, call out fee or not. Bloody landlords are so disappointing xx

My under bath did this there was no pipes attached to the drainage system and over fill they all came apart I didn’t relise until it went through walls floors and everything. I ripped of the panel in the end breaking it to find what was causing the damp it went through actual brick aswell. Keep ringing your landlord. It took months for them to fix my place

Phone an emergency plumber

I noticed there is a light fixture on the ceiling. That means wires. I would turn off the electrical breaker to that room just to be safe.

Document everything. Get a hotel and bill it to your landlord. Break your lease and take her to court if she refuses to fix the issue, pay for the hotel and/or give you back your deposit.

Start putting your furniture outside the house

It’s all stopped now but im really concerned the roof is gonna fall through, I’ve got it all cleaned up and my baby is playing in the living room, idk if it’s safe??

It’s not once it starts to go through ceilings etc it’s not safe as it can go through at any time as ceilings isn’t made off good material

I would get out of the house, your ceiling is at risk of collapsing until its evaluated by a professional. I've seen videos of exactly this happening, and what comes out if it collapses is not safe to breath in

As someone that's had a ceiling fall on her from water coming in stay out of that room! It could go at any time. In that video you can see the ceiling bulging so I imagine it will come down at some point.

It’s happened again! She’s still not answering!

I can’t phone an emergency plumber because they want paying and I don’t have the money yet!! I’m a single mum I’m so worried the roof is completely bulging out, I’ve contacted my mum and dad to see if I can stay for a few days and they won’t let me, I feel so on edge and anxious

Can you contact your local authority? You can complain about private landlords to the council.

They might be able to redirect you to help as you have a baby and are legally classed as vulnerable.

That’s just ridiculous that your landlord hasn’t gotten back to you!!🤯
Can the fire department shut the water off at the main line?
Do you have any friend or other family besides your parents you could stay with?

Update? Have you got hold of the landlord yet?

I’ve got hold of her, she has sent her ‘mate’ to come out and sort it, all he’s done is stopped the water from coming out, the ceiling is severely damaged and the carpet is absolutely soaking and stinks so bad me and my daughter stayed out last night but I’ve come home this morning and it smells like dead animal and my daughter can’t go in the living room. I’ve carpet cleaned most of it but it’s still soaking she said she is coming out tomorrow to talk to me

When everything opens back up tomorrow I’ll be calling environmental health and the council
