Realistically how many zip up new born size do I need? I have 7.. I wanted to put those on her at night only and then whatever during the day as she’s going to be an Aug baby and it’s hot here in Fresno. She’s measuring about 5 pounds..

That’s more than enough in my experience. My first born we have 2 and just 5 newborn onesies. I have more clothing in 0-3 months sizes.
Yes, plenty already! There's a chance baby will outgrow them quickly and 0-3 month will fit from the beginning, but might be a little baggy. Definitely don't overdo it with the newborn sizes though.
7 is enough, nb size for my kids only lasted for about 2 weeks as they grow fast at the beginning.
I didn't even use zip ups until older...like 2 or 3 months. It's just a pain until then. We did open bottom gowns mostly with some swaddling.
