Been dealing with ppa since I’ve had my baby and it’s taken a huge toll on my life. I don’t know how to deal with it and I’m scared to talk to any therapist about it but this is me giving the talking about it a try. Feel free to reach out or comment

Hello Karen, what is ppa? Why are you afraid to talk to a therapist about it? What does your support system look like?

PPA is postpartum anxiety … the system has failed many women for being open about their struggles…I have my spouse and family but what much can they do 🤷🏽♀️

I struggled with PPA as a first time mom! For me, I finally figured out the source was me feeling like EVERYTHING in the baby's life (health, growth, safety) was ALL my responsibility and no one else's. I worried about him getting hurt, or me not feeding him the right amounts or ANYthing going wrong. What helped me was (when I was finally able to verbalize it) expressing to my husband how I felt and SHARING the responsibility mentally so I didn't have to carry the weight of it all mentally.

If you’re still nursing that can trigger it for some women to when they have their let down. I’ve heard of someone who stopped nursing because her ppa was so intense especially when nursing’s once she quit nursing it helped a lot and eventually went away.
