My baby fell out my bed
Please don’t judge me, I feel terrible as it is.
I’m so sleep deprived I decided to put my 11 month old baby next to me last night instead of back in their cot as I thought it would make them settle/sleep better.
This morning she went over the side of the bed and the side of the bedside cabinet (hollow light wood) luckily broke her fall, she doesn’t have anything on her, no bumps and is behaving normally although did cry at the time.
Has this ever happened to anyone? What did you do? I feel so stupid 🤦🏻♀️

It has happened to me. They were absolutely fine. I was upset too.
Don’t worry, it happens to people more than you realise! If you think she’s behaving normally and no obvious signs of injury then she probably is ok but if you have any worries whatsoever take her to the dr/ A&E. it happened to me with my first born and the staff at hospital were very reassuring. Head injuries usually present with baby vomiting and more sleepy than usual so just watch out for those signs too.
We always used to put our son in our bed after getting up 4+ times in the night. So he’d be in our bed from around 3/4am. Once he hit a certain age and was crawling, he started to crawl out and fell off the bed 2-3 times before I realised I couldn’t keep doing it 😩😩 I don’t think it’s an issue having baby in your bed especially at this age. But I’d have a look at some bed guards for your bed if it’s a more regular thing as that will definitely give you some more reassurance. It’s completely normal tho most parents I’ve spoken to have had babies fall off the bed, they’re so accident prone at this age xx
We took my son to A&E after he fell off the bed and hit his head (had a bump and dent). They asked why we had taken him in and we said that 111 had recommended it. The doctors literally rolled their eyes and said "of course they did".
They also asked if he cried immediately as that is a good sign baby is ok.
I would keep an eye and get checked if you feel the need but they are probably ok :)
It's happened to me and I was in absolute bits. Took little one to a and e, they just handed me a leaflet to look out for some signs! Little one was absolutely fine but scared the life out of me haha xx
It happened to me when my lg was 11 months our bed is really high so I felt awful but she was absolutely fine, she did cry at first but had no marks on her, I know how you feel I couldn’t stop crying for hours even though she was crawling around laughing and playing xx
This has happened to me twice, each time he’s cried and then swiftly forgotten about it.
If you are choosing cosleeping as an ongoing method and have the funds, perhaps consider a floor bed as it’s less distance.
