Is there anyone who switched from breastmilk to formula and noticed change in baby sleep or fussiness?

Learn more about our guidelines. He is sleeping for 2-3 hours stretches at night.. 3 hours is very rear though. He is 5 weeks old. Cries at lunch and in the evening before bedtime which is around 8. His cry is quite high pitched he turns red and I get quite scared seeing him like this, looks like he can’t take his breath from crying sometimes. I’m pumping and feeding him with bottle as he didn’t latch.
During the day he doesn’t fall asleep easily, and sometimes his wake window reaches 3 hours. I always try to get him to nap around 1h after waking up but not always successful. He has short naps if put down, but longer if he is sleeping on me.
Thank you! That’s very helpful. I do wish to keep breastfeeding. I just have couple of friends which babies are on formula and always so content and sleeping long 4-5 - 6 hours stretches. I just get so tired and I hate seeing him cry, but I guess with time it will get better 🥰

Hey, just to say… my baby is just over 5 weeks old and is EBF - she sleeps 5/6 hour stretches over night!! Your breast milk is good enough for your baby, don’t feel the need to top up with formula just to get longer sleep stretches! It’ll all come in time 🫶🏼
Thank you
that’s amazing, I’m jealous! And thank you

we are at this point now too at 7 weeks old, I think it's so difficult sometimes for us to vision a better sleep routine when you are in the sticks of it isn't it, but it does get better🥰
