The last time the Olympics were on I was a sleep-deprived new mum wandering around in a daze! Feel v nostalgic too weirdly enough.
Found a (clean) nappy from the newborn days and a never been used dummy next to it yesterday. Burst into tears π
Now, my 3 yo is going to the toilet by himself and saying his please and thank yous π Time, please stop whizzing by!

Yes! I was saying this to my husband today, last time the Olympics were on we were knee deep in the newborn phase! Schitts creek does it for me too, that was my go to watch doing the night feeds x

Yes!! We literally said this too- I used to pop it on iplayer on my phone at night to stay awake for his feeds! And as cliche as it sounds, the days do feel long but the years are so short. Itβs flying by.

I've got a few Netflix faves from this era too. Funny how a show can make you feel such feelings even years on

could not agree more... Some days I feel like the newborn days were longer than 3 years ago. It's bizarre. Is it different with a second one in tow?

Yes! Sometimes it feels like yesterday, other times it feels like a lifetime ago.
This time around I feel like Iβm blinking and heβs changing before my very eyes. Iβm fighting for my life some days π in the trenches, with the sleep deprivation and navigating balancing the needs of 2, but itβs going so very fast. Ask me at 10:30am when Iβm already wishing it was bed timeβ¦ then ask me again at night when theyβre both asleep and Iβm scrolling my phone watching back videos of them- ππ©

Isn't Olympics 4 yearly so 2020 x

2020 summer olympics were postponed, cause Covid. Took place in July-Aug 2021

I felt this with the euros - not so much newborn memories but late pregnancy memories haha
Mental how quick time goes

You know what, I didnβt even know the olympics were on then. Donβt remember a thing. Thatβs how wrapped up I must have been in the newborn bubble π

I am currently back in the new born trenches with my little girl and my now 3 year old, so not feeling quite so nostalgic ππ

Yep! Mine was born a few days before the last Olympics. I've now got a 7 week old as well π€£
Definitely no more newborns for the next Olympics though!

i was just literally thinking the same thingπ this post is how i found out the olympics were happening at that timeπ

For me, it was being pregnant during the Euros. I was pregnant last time, and now I am due in November again with my second. I am hoping for a pregnancy free Euros 2028. π

For me it was being pregnant during the euros, and baby kicking during the games, and we making jokes about him being a footballer (we knew it was a boy). Now he is wearing England football shirt and asking when England will play again!

Yes !!! I remember coming downstairs with my tiny baby watching the Olympics and just feeling so content!

I remember only having a few weeks to go til baby was due and taking a towel and laying it on our friends' sofa in case the football got too exciting and my waters broke! π π Seems daft as now but back then I woulda been mortified if it had happened! π π

YES!!!!! We came home from hospital on the day of the opening ceremony and then it was 2 weeks of paternity leave and newborn snuggles xxx
